Random House: 10% of sales from eBooks

In August, Chief Executive Markus Dohle told German magazine Der Spiegel that he expects almost 10% of Random House’s revenue to come from eBooks in 2011.

According to Reuters, he said, “We’re at 8 percent in the United States currently, it rose by leaps and bounds,” Dohle told Der Spiegel. “I could well imagine that we get beyond 10 percent next year.”

He added that he doesn’t expect eBook sales to overtake sales of their print counterparts in the next five years, but he does think that they’ll be twenty-five to fifty percent of sales by 2015.
